These Terms and Conditions govern the business arrangement entered between Stalwart Moving Co (trading as “Stalwart Moving”, ABN 55 126 030 413) and yourself in respect to the moving job.

It is understood that by booking Stalwart Moving that you have read and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions.

About Stalwart Moving Co.

Stalwart Moving is not a common carrier and reserves the right the refuse the carriage of goods at our discretion. We accept no liability as such. We also have the right to contract external service providers to perform any work where required.

Booking Information

At the time of booking, you must provide:

  • Personal Information: name, contact details
  • Address where the job will take place (from and to)
  • Date and time when you want the job to be done
  • A rough list of items you need to be moved (not an inventory)
  • A deposit may be required when the booking is made, it will be deducted from the total fee payable at the completion of the job
  • Cancellations must be made with at least 24 hours’ notice otherwise we will charge a 1-hour fee of the booked hourly rate.

Based on the information you give us about the job, Stalwart Moving Co. will provide:

  • An estimated quote
  • A van and/or truck
  • The number of movers
  • The time it will take for the job

Everything will vary based on the actual items to be moved, traffic and parking issues and circumstances beyond our control.

Rates and Payment

Our rates may vary by vehicle needed for the job, day of the week, time, travel time, overtime rates, number of movers, tolls, parking fees and fines.

We take payments in cash and card. Credit card payments will have a surcharge for transaction costs.

The payment must be completed at the end of the job.

During the Job

  • Parking: Make sure there is parking and easy access to the properties as our drivers are unable to park in clear ways and no standing zones. We will follow your instructions for parking however the cost of the parking fees and infringements will be included in the fee for the move.
  • Packing: It’s better to have all your items packed in sealed and labelled boxes. Let us know about any fragile goods or precautions that we may take. We will attempt to move all your items as directed, however we reserve the right to refuse to carry any item for any reason. Sorry, we are not geared to move pianos or pool tables. If there are significant more items than discussed during the booking process, we might not have the time or space to finish the job and we may have to discuss an alternative with you.
  • Meals and Breaks: Our movers are entitled to half an hour meal break every 5 hours.

Damage and Guarantee

Stalwart Moving Co. has Public Liability insurance. We will take great care of your items during the move however, sometimes accidents occur.

In case of damage of any item during the move, you need to let us know before the job ends and the staff have left. No claims can be accepted after that.

We will try to repair the damage to as close as possible to its original condition, replace if we can’t repair it, or compensate up to the pre-damage market value of the item.

We will cover any physical damage caused by us, except in the following circumstances:

  • Inadequately packed items: glass, pictures, sculptures, artwork, tabletops, lamps, televisions (not packed in their original box), computer equipment, musical instruments (not in hard cases), or any other fragile item.
  • Flat packed furniture like IKEA, etc. We recommend the disassembled of these items prior to the moving.
