How we work
Stalwart Moving Co. moves homes and businesses with hi-roof vans instead of trucks. Here’s how that works, and why it often makes a move quicker and easier.
Vans instead of a truck
Each of our IVECO vans carries 20 cubic metres, about the same as a small truck, but it fits laneways, narrow streets, driveways and loading docks where a truck can’t go. That means parking closer to your door and less carrying.
Two or three vans at once
A 1- or 2-bedroom home usually fits in one van. For a 3-bedroom house we normally bring two vans and two or three movers, loading at the same time and travelling together, so one trip does the whole job.
A quote based on your home
For smaller homes, a list of what you’re moving is enough for a quote. For a house of three bedrooms or more, and within 10 km of our depot, we offer initial inspection and planning visits, free of charge. Your quote takes into account stairs, lifts, parking and how far we have to carry.
You know when we’ll arrive
The day before your move, we confirm our arrival time and send you a reminder of what to have ready. When we leave our Reservoir depot, you get a message saying we’re on our way. Furniture is wrapped in blankets and strapped in place, and every move is covered by public liability and goods-in-transit insurance. See how we protect your floors.
How you’re charged
We charge by the hour. Time runs from when we leave our depot in Reservoir to when we’re back, so moves in Melbourne’s north have less travel on the bill. You pay at the end of the move.
