How we protect your floors

Worried about your floors on moving day? So are we. Here’s exactly what we do to keep timber, tiles and new floors free of scratches and marks, from the front door to the last room.

Before we carry

Blankets along the whole path

Before the first piece moves, we lay moving blankets along the route: from the entrance to the bedrooms, the kitchen, the living room, anywhere furniture is going. Nothing is dragged and nothing is set down on bare floor.

New floors

No trolleys where they can mark

Trolleys and dollies are quick, but their wheels can mark a new or soft floor. On new floors we leave them outside and carry by hand instead.

Heavy pieces

Shoulder straps, not sliding

For heavy furniture we use shoulder straps: two movers lift the piece with the weight on their shoulders, so it stays off the ground the whole way instead of being pushed or slid.

Technique

We plan every piece before it moves

Most damage happens when a move is rushed. We look at each entrance first, work out the options and the risks, and keep an eye on everything around us while we carry. Lots of technique, lots of care.
